The Wonders of Inequality
I’m grateful for the inequality that defines the uniqueness of each individual. My girlfriend and I’ve been watching the G.E.O series on Prime Video. It’s a documentary series that follows the seven month selection process for the special forces of the Spanish national polices. Watching the series, I told my girlfriend I was grateful we had such inequality that produced individuals such as these policemen who would choose to be on duty 24 hours a day to protect strangers.
I am the kind of guy that likes to load heavy weight on my back and squat it up and down. When I’m not doing that, I like to read books and write about what I’m seeing. I’m not the kind of guy who will be comfortable running into a dark room. I’m afraid of heights, I hate swimming in the open waters and—if my results on the Battlefield 1 video game depicted real life—I would get shot as soon as I stuck my head out nine out of ten times.
I’m grateful some musicians went through struggles that led to the production of such wonderful music I can’t even imagine creating. I’m grateful so many writers struggled and came from poverty, tragedy, unfairness and strife because it led to the creation of such beautiful masterpieces that inspire me.
Everyone has a unique job to do on this planet. Some have abilities others don’t. It’s a fact we aren’t all equal, just look at our heights. That hardship creates opportunities and becomes advantages later down the line. I’m grateful some people chose to grasp their differences as opportunities to create and do wonderful things. Isn’t it wonderful?
