The Best Decisions
It was the best decision, at the time.
It was the best decision, given what I knew.
It was the best decision, for what mattered then.
It was the best decision, considering my forecast.
Of course, my forecast was inaccurate.
Of course, my priorities changed with time.
Has anyone ever predicted a future with accuracy?

Do we reach peak wisdom in youth?
No. Not at all.
How about in our 30s or 70s?
No. Not at all.
Wisdom peaks when confronted with our death.

The living may judge the decisions of the dead.
They were the best decisions at the time.
But what do the dead care?
Legacies only matter to the living.
